The Lotus from James Bond’s The Spy Who Loved Me was sold for £111,500 ($162,825 or €128,415) at an auction in London. The white-colored 1976 Lotus Esprit was acquired by a private American collector who was giving his bids over the phone at the sale in Bonhams.
The collector depicted himself as a Lotus and James Bond enthusiast and said the car would be conveyed to Atlanta, Georgia. The vehicle is one of two Lotus cars driven by Roger Moore in the 1977 Bond movie, which transformed into an amphibious car when it landed on the sea during a chase.
