The new Cayenne Diesel production was started by Porsche at its Leipzig plant. The SUV comes with a 3-liter V6 turbo diesel powerplant with 240 hp (176 kW) provided by Audi AG. The powerplant in the latest Cayenne makes a distinction through its seamless vehicle response. Add to that its maximum muscular torque of 550 Nm which provides athletic handling and superb handling, thereby offering that pure driving experience which Porsche is well-known for.
Nevertheless, the Cayenne Diesel utilizes an average of only 9.3 liters for every 100 kilometers and its CO2 emissions are 244 grams per kilometer. This latest addition to the Cayenne range now makes for a product line of seven variants. The Cayenne Diesel will be offered for sale beginning February 2009. Coming with the tested and proven Tiptronic S automatic transmission as typical, the bottom Euro price tag is estimated to be about € 47,250. The Cayenne with diesel engine in Germany, plus 19 percent VAT and country-specific equipment will cost around € 56,436.
