The pricing for the brand new Equinox crossover was announced by Chevrolet recently. The crossover is due to hit the US markets by June with a beginning price of $23,185, which includes a $745 destination charge, for the base model FWD LS model. This pricing is $1,800 less than the previous model.
The Equinox crossover comes in three trims, namely, the LS, LT and LTZ, with FWD as standard and AWD as optional. Powerplant lineup consists of two units each with fuel-saving direct injection and variable valve timing technology. Equinox dealers are foreseeing about two-thirds of customers will opt for the base model with 182hp (135kW) 2.4-liter unit over the 264hp (190kW) 3.0-liter version, besides its lower cost, the 2.4-liter version will bring the Equinox the best-in-segment highway fuel consumption of 30mpg (with EPA certification pending) when it comes with standard FWD, an improvement of 25 percent over the outgoing model.
