2011 BMW X3 Caught In The Wild!

After the presentation of the all-new X1 SUV, BMW's engineers are now busy preparing the second-generation X3 which is due to arrive in international markets in 2011.



Based on the next 3-Series platform architecture, the new X3 bears the codename F25 and will come with all-wheel drive or as BMW calls it, xDrive. It is possible though that just like the smaller X1, the Bavarian automaker may also offer rear-wheel drive only variants of its compact SUV.

Hey anyone know when this thing is actually supposed to come out? Any chance it's early 2010 as a 2011 model? My lease ends in March and I would really like an X3, but would hate to lease one and then have the new one come out 2 months later UGH

I wonder if the new X3 will still be outsourced to Magna Steyr in Austria or made in South Carolina.

love how the article just adds "might get a hybrid option" when clearly BMW will just add petrol and diesel options instead of hybrid

I dont see how the X3 dilutes the brand, BMW started this class with the X3. Maybe I would agree with the X1, and 5 series Gt both borderline pointless cars that are appear to be part of the cliche, if you throw enough at the wall something will stick. but certainly not the X3

BMW used to be a sports sedan and sports coupe maker, and a very interesting one at that. Now it makes soccer-mom vehicles. You do the math.

I (for one) fail to see the purpose of BMW producing both this vehicle along with the X1, as they're far too close in size, market segment, and concept.... I miss the days when BMWs actually made a bit of sense.

Is your lease through a Leasing Company? Most manufacturers will allow you to extend your lease and go on a month-to-month extension while you are deciding how you want to proceed with the options provided.
