It certainly looks the part of a full size luxury sedan. From photos the interior looks to be well appointed as well. I would have never guessed it was a Hyundai. Although the price is fairly cheap for a car of this size, there's obviously one major car that is the better choice, the Mercedes E550 which I believe starts around $60. Either way the Equus is a great start, using the momentum from the Genesis Sedan/Coupe. If compared to an LS it surely is the bargain of the century. Deboost me but i'm being 100% honest. This suited up Hyundai looks the part and may satisfy buyers from one segment up. Never say never.

Copying Lexus tailpipes and interior is one thing, but naming it VS460 is pushing the enveloppe a little too far !! Equus already sound enough the same as Lexus, what's next can we expect from Hyundai, maybe a model called BNW, Bercedes-Menz, Hodi ?

after so many other companies began using the idea...

I realize that you guys are pointing out how similar it is to the LS, but I feel like most people aren't aware that the new 7-series and many other cars have similar designs.

I must say I liked the VW Phaeton jab in the article, but, that car was one of the best on the planet.

Image and name plays out a lot, particularly in the U.S.

I will never understand the crazy comparisons going on in the automotive world. Why are all these Hyundais being compared to Lexus? Because they used Lexus as their benchmark, which is nothing new considering Buick, Lincoln, Cadillac, and so many others are doing the same thing. Does that warrant a comparison? No, not really.

So why stop the comparisons there? Compared to a Maybach 57, this car is really a steal. Why would anyone buy a Maybach when they can have this Equus for a fraction of the cost? They both are four-door luxury saloons, right?

They should lay a fast loud and hard symphony when they Debut the Eqqus, and then have big giant sign in the background entitled: "ITS A HYUNDAI, AND WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!"

Hyundai Prices for all cars will be going up soon when the hext gen variants come out.

These are price examples from Base models to upper trim models:

Accent= $13-$20K (Accent SEs without rebates, etc are already in the $18K ball park)

Elantra=$16-$22K (Top Spec Elantras already cost $20K without rebates. etc..)

Sonata=$18-$30K (Top of the line current gen Sonatas are already $28K without Rebates, etc...)

Azera= $27-$35K (Top Spec Azeras already cost $31K without rebates, etc...)

Genesis= $23-$48K (They plan on adding Genesis Prada as an Option)

Eqqus= $46-$58K

Watch, youll see.

Hyundai did a much better job copying Lexus' interiors on this 2nd challenger to the Avalon. I thought it a bit humorous that the rear looks like an elongated Yaris.

Looks better than their Sega Genesis but the only people it'll impress are the ones who can't afford to buy one.

Lastly, in fine recent Hyunda tradition, there's no indication on the car of who actually built it. Still ashamed and trying to pull a fast one I see.

This won't get here earlier than 2012. Hyundai needs to sell this car at a huge loss while timing it right so they do not go up against the Volt as that car is virtually guaranteed to win COTY by divine mandate.
