2013 Lincoln MKZ Undercuts The Lexus ES 350 By $175 But Is That Going To Make A Difference For Anyone?

Quality? How hard will it be to match the quality of a car that is based off a Toyota Camry?

I think that you and several other people here are overplaying the ES350. It's lexuses lowest offering. It's heavily based off the Toyota Camry. But reading some of the replies here, you would think that the ES350 was some sort of quality European Sedan. It isn't. Well I guess if your an American it is.

Undercut? for what? You do realize that the ES350 is essentially a Toyota Camry? It's the ES that's overpriced. The MKZ enjoys not having the burden of having run-of-the-mill, low cost underpinnings.

The ES350 isn’t deserving of the premium that Lexus is charging. There’s a reason why they can only sell them in America. The ES350 is a dressed up run-of-the-mill sedan. No thanks. But hey…. Americans seem to love them. So who am I to argue against the masses.?

What else can you compare the ES 350 to in europe? Europe doesn't have any Buicks.

Quality means that the Lexus requires 3% less trips to the dealer over 5 years vs the competition. That number is less than one. I'd take the additional 3% trips to the dealer over the lexus if it means I'll have a car that isn't a dull boring appliance (like the Lexus).

I didn't even consider a Toyota/Lexus when I bought my MKZ Hybrid last year. I got a great deal and I bought something made in North America. Why would I even consider sending my money overseas unless I was there? BTW, I love my steel blue, loaded up hybrid, and so does anyone who sees it. The only way I'd buy a Toyota or a Lexus is if it was used and cheap.

- No one said that it didn’t. The Evo X MR also competes with the 335. If not, then why did Edmunds compare the EVO with the 3-series?

- It combines all three but isn’t the best at all three. It doesn’t handle better than the EVO, and its slower than the EVO.

Here's ALL of the final verdict. Not just the part that he thinks supports his twisted argument. Oh yeah... THE EVO WON.
