Honda have had in the past very very good front wheel drive - but you can't get rid of torque steer completely.

I think idiot is a strong word.

Prelude
Non-Hybrid CR-Z with power
Acura Integra, never liked RSX as a model name

It's about time Honda gave the Civic some real oomph. That 200 hp output has been around for almost 2 decades now. 250 hp is more like it for the great little Civic, the .220 Swift of autos.

160hp worked great on the Civic si back in the late 90's early 2000's but the cars got big and fat. 200hp in that generation civic would have been quite fast, being as the civic si was able to get 0-60 in under 7 seconds with a 1.6l 160hp engine. More hp isn't the answer, lighter cars is. Heck, the Civic ex with 120hp would get to 60 in 8 seconds now cars that size with 200hp barely get under 8 seconds.
