It won’t be going on sale until next spring, but Chevrolet is eager to reveal the starting price of its brand new 2018 Equinox. The cheapest version money will buy is going to set you back $24,475 (including destination charges) for the entry-level L trim with the base 1.5-liter engine. Chevy rates the four-cylinder unit at around 170 horsepower (127 kilowatts) and 203 pound-feet (275 Newton-meters) delivered to the front axle via a six-speed automatic transmission enabling the overhauled crossover to return 31 miles per gallon on the highway.

Should the power of the 1.5-liter not be enough, a beefier 2.0-liter is going to be introduced in the second quarter of the year. That one will produce 252 hp (188 kW) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) and is going to be linked to GM’s brand new nine-speed automatic transmission.
