Upcoming Alfa Romeo coupe and convertible could borrow liberally from Maserati, Ferrari and student designs.

Rumors of a new flagship sedan from Alfa Romeo have abounded ever since the Italian automaker killed off the 166 in 2007. Now they appear to be picking up steam as Car and Driver reports that Alfa is working on a new model line to be called the 6C. The revived nameplate indicates the cylinder count, just as the 4C employs a four-cylinder engine and the 8C before it packed a V8. In this case, the new range would be built around the twin-turbo V6s developed by Ferrari and Maserati for the Ghibli.
