Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat SpA CEO Sergio Marchionne told reporters on Friday that the Alfa Romeo 4C, the lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car, is expected by the end of the year for the U.S. market.

"We're finalizing the car now, so it should be here by the end of the year," Marchionne said after an InForum breakfast Friday morning. "It's ready in the sense of all the work with architecture and types of models."

The CEO responded to questions regarding the impact of the agreement between Fiat and Mazda to jointly produce convertible two-seater Alfa Romeo and Mazda sports cars.
