Alfa Romeo has begun developing three new models seen as key elements to the auto brand’s turnaround. The triple move from Alfa Romeo consists of a midsize sedan to rival the BMW 5-series, a midsize SUV to take on models such as the Audi Q5 and a large sedan flagship.
These cars are only the first of the eight new Alfas which were announced on May 6 as part of a €5 billion investment to raise the carmaker’s sales from 74,000 last year to 400,000 by 2018. Alfa and its parent, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, did not give any specific information on the brand’s upcoming models since the announcement in May when Alfa CEO, Harald Wester, announced that the carmaker will switch from front-wheel drive to rear- and all-wheel drive configurations
