The original Datsun 240Z is a classic. The Toyota 2000GT is a classic.

If you don't have a smart thing to say, don't comment.

I'm sorry, but a front-wheel-drive car will never be a classic in my mind.

Easily the single worst reason to not consider a car to be a "classic".

Fail.

Really? FWD cars can't be classic? And who are you to say that?

I think "classic" is a strong word. Those that follow the classic car market know that four door cars rarely become collectibles (that is usually reserved for coupes and convertibles) or if they do, their prices are much lower.

However, this car has been a great product for Mazda. Most of the reviews have praised it. For those that can't afford a more premium sport sedan, this is a great economical alternative.

Truly one of the best values available, both in features and performance. It's also a great car for those us in the snowbelt that dont want to fishtail through fresh snow (AWD alternatives are pricier).

As an owner of this vehicle its hard to explain the feeling of 280 lb ft of torque in a small FWD car - yes - in 1st gear there's obvious torque steer...but passing on the highway in 4th, 5th and even 6th gear - there's always buckets of power on tap.

Personally I'm ready to upgrade to the next level, but its a tough arguement against myself based on how well rounded and pratical this little car is....and I dont even like hatchbacks - I was sold on how it drives.

MS3 is a cheap, unreliable Japanese POS. Instant classic my a**.

Mazda3 is one of the best of this decade... it does everything right - it's good value, practical, sporty, well made, good on fuel and reliable. You will never find a unhappy Mazda3 owner.
