A big part of me wants to believe those typos were done on purpose. That's the great part of journalism, boys.

Nice message, although I am not sure I agree with allowing American manufacturers get away with cheap interiors for the spirit of the muscle car.

Dude you couldn't be more wrong. The reason Detroit fell behind is the lack of foresight and vision. This is a trait that can be found in any company or country. Mercedes-Benz went through it in the late 90's with the ML class at first and its quality began to slip for profit reasons, skipping on quality. Toyota is going through it now and if it doesn't catch itself, it will fall pray to being too smug.
Pride has a way of stagnating. If GM would have continued to produce the Camaro with all the quality and advancements, it would be selling just as well as the Ford Mustang ( the best selling coupe years running). The Mustang isn't the best coupe on the market, but none the less that is beside the point. I don't see anyone braking down Toyota's doors to purchase the Supra, Celica or Solaro coupes.

Gm does know how to make an awesome looking car. a lot of us were brought up on these cars and can relate to them much easier than some crappy rice burner.

I love that the author's main point is that people looked at him while crawling around NYC. If that is what he wants then he should buy a fiberglass mould and make it into a pedal car.

Okay...back to the car and less about the politics that most of us here don't understand anyway. When I first saw/heard about the dashboard I was concerned. The photos here do it a bit of justice, I think. Will this turn GM's fortunes around? You know, back in the 80s when Chrsyler was rather worried about its future, they came out with a set of cars that today we laugh at, but at the time they saved that company. The Le Baron-type cars, the Caravan-type cars. GM, if they continue on this trend, may see a group of cars, collectively, that will save it. That group of cars will have a leader, and that leader will have a name. As to which one will emerge remains to be seen. For the time being though, I'll enjoy what they have done with the Camaro.

GM is paying for its past discretions. Now moving forward, if they can get over this financial mess, they can sell very competitive cars.
