At the Classic Car Club in New York, McLaren's new 2013 MP4-12C Spider wasn't the only guest of honor.

McLaren's MP4-26, driven by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, was also in attendance.

While I specialize in consumer products, I have to say to see a proper Formula One car in the flesh and up close is truly something special. Especially when it's a vehicle that two extremely accomplished drivers have piloted.

For me there are thee areas that stand out to me:

1) The steering wheel -- as we've seen in other racers, make note of all the settings piped through the steering wheel

2) The rear diffuser -- It's amazing to see how an F1 car has been designed to move air around the vehicle

3) The front suspension -- Just look at the set up with the carbon fiber bits
