Nothing comes close to the legendary “Ur-Quattro” as far as classic Audi models are concerned. Even with only 160hp, the 1985 Audi Quattro was already a monster of a ride during its time. When the latest Audi S5 gets to the streets, the Ingolstadt diehards over at Fourtitude stacked the two of them up against each other, and if the speculations are accurate, Audi may be prepping a successor of their own.

There is a suggestion from the German publication Autobild that the lightweight sport-coupe could come with the ‘A5 quattro sport’ name and receive a 425hp V6 unit, positioning it right smack in the middle of the S5 and the impending RS5. Although it sounds tempting, it is somewhat far-flung. But who will complain if Audi decides to create another beast? Informers say that 2012 is the year the revival is set to hit the streets.
