It doesn't feel like long ago but I recall when BMW first introduced the X Coupe Concept. Back then it was far out with its asymmetrical design and funky ride height that was jacked up.

It was something all-new from BMW. Frankly, I had no idea what to make of it.

Bimmerfest 2017

It had two functions though: 1) Preview the all-new 1-Series' design; and, 2) Get an idea of the buying public's interest in a more rough and tumble BMW.

Whether or not that concept car inspired what Agent 001 stumbled into at this year's Bimmerfest is something I don't think we'll ever know. But it sure does remind me of that car, at least in terms of being edgy.

Take a peek at this 2002 that's been jacked up and modified to be what I would affectionately nickname a "War Machine." Perhaps it's my love for Bell & Ross but I just dig the airplane instruments applied in this cabin.
