It’s one of the most iconic shapes of all time, with its spoiler higher than its roofline. So, when Pixar needed a character to represent venerable old Detroit Steel in their animation ‘Cars’, the natural choice was the Plymouth Superbird.

And now you can have a modern one. All you need is a Dodge Challenger, and an extra US$16 395.

Heide Performance Products is the shop behind the conversion. They take a new Challenger and replace the front end with the classic cone-like nose of the Plymouth Superbird (or Dodge Charger Daytona – they have kits for both versions). The signature tall wing is added, along with a bonnet with a “power blister”, various ventilation scoops and custom side skirts. Then they fit a set of custom 20-inch forged aluminum wheels. A rear splitter, custom badging and taillights that mimic the ’70?s original, complete the exterior look.
