Bmw considering adding four-cylinders engines to the 5-Series GT

This vehicle is specifically targeted to an older demographic which BMW sees as an area of growth, hence no sport version.The smaller engines make it more affordable as the article points out.

Oh please BMW .....no sence on that choice..4 cylinders are too weak for a car in this category of weight...same posible election for the S class if my mind recall it right, I hope they don't pick those engines for those cars.

The V8 version is EPA rated 15/21, not very good, but the 5 GT is huge. Maybe a 6 cylinder version will come to the US?

The normally aspirated 2.0L N46 (I4) puts out 150hp in its best tune. Dropping a turbo (or two, since BMW has an affinity for that arrangement these days) would easily bring that power output to over 270hp (2hp more than the 3.0L N53 (I6). The diesel speaks for itself.
