Brawn GP wins the Turkey Grand Prix

Brawn GP did it again and won the Turkey Grand Prix with the help of its brilliant Jenson Button.

It appears that the two drivers from RBR-Renault, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel didn’t have a chance in defeating Button and now the driver from Brawn GP reached a total of 61 points which means that his chances to win this year’s championship are growing day by day! Regarding Lewis Hamilton, he got a “well-deserved” 13th place while Ferrari’s Massa and Raikkonen finished on 6th and 9th place...

Didn't realize Brawn is the old Honda team. Goes to show its 1/2 driver, 1/2 car.

Even Toyota is beating last year's champ (before they got disqualified).

I wonder if Lewis Hamilton is still threatening to leave Formula1 considering he's having quite a stinker of a year?

It's actually a Ross Brawn car. After Honda scored a total of only 6 constructor's points in the 2007 season they hired him as team principal in November of that year.

Turbospyder,
Brawn car/Honda engine, whatever. My point is that Brawn-Mercedes is cleaning up because of their driver and car. Button couldn't win last year and the Mercedes team (if this one existed) couldn't place. Put them together and you get the best combination.

Toyota may be in a distant 3rd but it still better than the 5 or 6 teams behind them that having racing heritage and all :)

There were three teams, including BAR and Toyota, that liberally interpreted the rules governing the rear diffuser design for this years cars and it paid off for them after the FIA ruled the designs legal. Most of the teams engineered much more conservative diffusers because they believed anything more aggressive was illegal. This years results so far are a consequence of this fact. It will likely be different next year when all the major teams are running equally aggressive rear diffusers designs.

wow, D.matriech(not even an engineer) car, force india vijay mallya(business man) car...etc. You think there is no role of at least 200+ engineers, designers, mechanics, engine providers...etc.
Truth is Ross Brawn just shaped/showed the existing honda team(he didn't change many of them and believes they are/were very competitive) and their engineers a right way, made them push and focus in the right direction and where there is more performance. Brawn no doubt is great engineer and supervise all other engineers in his team, but Formula 1 team is not about only one engineer. It's a team sport.

and so much for mercedes engine, if Brawn pace is only due to Mercedes engine, then why Force india and even parent company Mclaren not on the same pace as Brawn. Engine is just part of a car and with standard engine it's pretty much on same level as everybody else maybe only more reliable.

btw it was a great race, vettel made mistake on the first lap and that made jenson's victory more easier(i believe he would have won without that too) and barichello has to think and do a lot for future races, he is outclassed by button in the same car.

"In 2006 Honda took over the BAR team and began sailing under its own banner it did well, scoring one lucky win for Button and compiling eighty-six points for fourth place in the makes rankings. Mysteriously, however, it dispensed with the services of Geoff Willis in mid-2006 after a former Honda motorcycle-racing engineer was promoted above him. The 2007 results suggest this was not Honda's smartest move. The Japanese, it seems, had bristled against Willis's style of firm direction from the top. 'He wasn't very well liked by the resident Japanese engineers,' said an insider, and as a result was subjected to a witch hunt. In the BAR days, said my source, There was a room with sixty-odd Honda engineers linked to the CAD system. They had full access to view the drawings but the IT system wouldn't accept any uploading of drawings from the Japanese section, it having been made quite clear to them that they were to look but not touch."

It's OK for a Japanese team to finance an F1 team just don't try to engineer the car.

F1 has lost all its excitement. They should just end the season short after Button/Brawn walk away with the championship. Anyone know if the ratings have waned?

The stands were less than half full in Turkey. It should have been in Canada like before. F1 is turning into a joke. They better pray that teams like Ferrari don't boycott next year.
