Nothing shows the true character of a company better than tough times. It is easy to hold true to core values when there is cash in the bank and customers are rolling into the doors. But when the times turn bad what do you do? Do you hold to your values or go into survival mode?
I have seen some pretty reputable companies lately make some remarkably shortsighted moves just to make a buck. The world is different now, and the values they seemed to hold so dear just a few years ago no longer apply. The only good company now, is one that makes money. Priorities have changed and the more you put into the bank the better you become.
Clearly we are under a different set of rules right now and those companies that continue to take the high ground are far fewer than just few years ago. But has it changed to customers beware, cash is king and you are now sitting in the back seat?
With this in mind, are there automotive companies you still trust? I would be willing to bet the opinion may have changed over the last few years.
Is it that big corporate giant that rakes in the cash? Or are you better off with the little guy that stands behind their product?
Let us know who YOU trust and distrust as an automaker and why?
