One of the more perplexing vehicle launches in recent memory was the Lexus GS F.

While early rumors indicated that the GS F would make use of the LFA's V10 symphony, it turned out to go a completely different direction.

That's because it simply repurposed the RC F's V8 engine. This was a disappointment for many and there's a simple reason for this: It only produces about 470 horsepower.

Keep in mind that the E60 BMW M5 produced 500 horsepower and the current-gen model makes upwards of 575 depending on how you spec the car. Hell, in this Top Gear clip featuring Chris Harris they went for the 30th anniversary car that makes an even 600 ponies.

So, is there even a reason to compare the two?

Although I think I've made it clear why the GS F is a brilliant driver's car sometimes you just need someone else to say it. The more data points, the merrier.
