When you're talking about vehicles with serious sporting intentions and more than 500 horsepower, it's tough to find something that's able to be driven daily. Our friends at Jaguar and Porsche seemingly have cracked that nut, however.

Case in point: The all-new Jaguar F-Type SVR and Porsche 911 Turbo.

Having driven both vehicles I can confirm that they can do both track and daily driver duty.

But, as with anything fast and with four wheels sometimes they're going to be raced. While I am an advocate of racing at the track on a road course, others like to do the quarter mile straightline thing. If you're into the latter, then you'll want to see WHO takes the crown in this showdown.

The 911 Turbo is known for getting off the line in a hurry thanks to its dual-clutch PDK transmission and all-wheel drive setup. The Jaguar, while fast, doesn't quite get as much traction and its 8-speed automatic isn't exactly the best-in-breed setup. The thing is this, however, we have yet to see just how quick the all-new SVR model is.

So, who crosses the line first? See the end result below!
