Aside from the "S" mentioned in both nameplates, I can't really think of why these two vehicles would be put head-to-head. I mean, the Aston Martin Rapide S armed with a whacking great V12 good for 550 or so horsepower and the all electric Tesla Model S that's known for whisking away drivers for 200 or so miles.
Well, actually I sort of lied. Aside from the "S" in each company's respective product they do share one thing in common: they're both exceedingly good looking products. Model S' are pretty striking when you do come across one on the road and an Aston is simply an Aston, really.
This is really a proof point for the Model S, which will be going on sale in the U.K. next year in right-hand drive spec. Even Steven Sutcliffe says that it doesn't really compete with the Rapide. But, hey, it's a fun little drag race JUST to see how capable the Model S really is.

Really handles. But can it really be better than the £150,000 Aston Martin Rapide S? Steve Sutcliffe plugs in, turns on and tunes into what could just represent the future of luxury motoring.
