As we've noted in recent weeks, the automakers are gearing up for a busy January. That's because there are not one, but two major events. Kicking off 2015 will be the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that's becoming a bigger footprint for automakers to display the latest and greatest technological innovations.

Audi has been increasing its presence in recent years. After all, the company's tag line is "Vorsprung durch Technik," which translates from German into "advancement through technology."

Although there may be a surprise in store — the company has shown off the goods previously — the thing the company is promoting for this year's CES are the Audi tablets. Seen in the all-new Q7 sport-utility vehicle, the four rings claims it is taking rear seat entertainment to the next level.

Essentially, the 10-inch tablets will provide a variety of entertainment and will be WiFi enabled. As expected, it will also hook up to the vehicle's functions via MMI.

Audi is breaking new ground in rear seat entertainment. One or optionally two Audi tablets with 10.1 inch screens serve as rear seat monitors. The Audi tablet can stand up to the demanding challenges in the car – it is temperature-resistant and offers the necessary crash safety lacking in conventional end-device solutions. The Audi tablet is connected to the MMI navigation plus via WiFi, thus gaining access to the radio, media, navigation and car functions of the Audi Q7. #magicofaudi
