We're just around the corner from the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Held in Las Vegas, it is the go-to event for anyone in the technology sector.

And now it's one of the more important places for automotive manufacturers to pop up at. Good bye, Detroit.

Mercedes-Benz will not be at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). Instead it's focusing on CES. The two vehicles slated to debut are the all-electric EQC sport-utility vehicle and the all-new CLA-Class, which is making its world premiere.

We're expecting it to take a lot from the all-new A-Class. Expect its powertrains to be carried over. And as you'll see in this all-new teaser clip of its interior, it too will be heavily lifted from the A-Class.

The three-pointed star will be debuting what it calls Interior Assistant at CES. As of now, we have zero clue as to what that means but we're thinking its going to consist of a combination of sensors and, perhaps, artificial intelligence to provide a more friendly in-cabin experience. In the short clip below, you'll see a driver reach into the passenger area and the interior lights automatically illuminate that area. Nifty, sure, but not sure it's a big deal.

Mercedes better have more up its sleeve. According to reports, it will deliver.
