WHOA! Didn't see that coming. Although we thought General Motors' Chevrolet division would keep the lid on the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt sealed until the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), it turns out the manufacturer had a different idea.
It decided to use the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas as the FIRST place it would tease the all-new Volt.

The company held a press conference, presumably to talk tech, and unveiled the car only for a few moments. According to people on the scene, the fully uncamouflaged product was draped with a cylindrical white cloth and it was pulled away quickly.
While the tease gives us a first look, we're going to have to wait until next week for MORE images, details and specifications.
One question emerges after getting a quick glimpse:
Is it US or does the 2016 Volt look a bit Acura like? Does anyone see TLX in there? And, if I am not mistaken, there's a beak on the Volt.

At a CES press event in Las Vegas this evening, Chevrolet's Tim Mahoney showed the next-generation Volt, which will be officially launching at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next week.
The redesigned Volt is a huge deal for General Motors: it's the first rethinking of the company's "extended-range electric" drivetrain since the debut of the original Volt in concept form in 2007. (Former GM CEO Rick Wagoner himself rolled onto stage in a Volt at a CES keynote in 2008.) The production first-generation Volt was met with mixed reviews — it can only go a few dozen miles on electric before switching to gas, has finicky electronics, and doesn't look nearly as good as the concept did — but still represents a huge, ongoing bet for GM on the future of gas and electric.
