Cadillac CTS-V wagon to rival M5 Touring and RS6 Avant
Cadillac’s high-performance CTS-V sedan already has it what it takes to scare of the likes of BMW’s M5, Mercedes’ E63 AMG and Audi’s new RS6, packing a supercharged 6.2L V8 with a healthy 556hp (415kW) and 551lb-ft (747Nm) of torque on tap.
The carmaker is now considering going after the touring wagon versions of the previously mentioned German performance thoroughbreds with a V version of the recently revealed CTS Sport Wagon.

I give Cadillac a ton of credit for bringing the fight to the big boys (M5, RS6, & E63).
I don't really like the huge d-pillar on the CTS wagon. If I were buying a super wagon, it would be the E63 in black with badges removed. Great Q ship.

The CTS-V will handily beat the M5 touring in any US stateside tests in all categories. Why? Because BMW chooses to deny the US the M5 touring even though we are the largest customers of premium BMWs.

I've only seen one E55 AMG wagon ever. BMW and Audi made a good choice by not selling their super wagons in the US. The CTS-V wagon might be different though. it is way cheaper than all of its rivals so who knows the outcome

KZ258, that is probably because they never imported the E55 to the States. They began importing the E63 to the US. There are several in this area -- have to have a keen eye to spot.

craptainamazing4,
The CTS will put GM out of business. I'm sure Saturn will get a wagon with the same motor at $40K cheaper... And speaking of "out of business", isn't GM on the verge of bankruptcy?

Stunning. I drive an S4 wagon and the rumor mill says Audi will not send any S or RS wagons to the US so my business will go to Caddy if they build it and sell it here. Black, tint, lowered and a wheel upgrade! Awesome!

CTS-V is a BMW M series rival only on paper. Whoever chooses a CTS-V over a BMW M series is either mentally challenged or just clueless when it comes to cars.
What we have here is again the syndrome of the little guy wishing that Chevrolet with the Corvette, Nissan with the GT-R, Cadillac with the CTS-V would "compete" with the mighty German brands. Unfortunately they are not.
Chevrolet, Nissan and Cadillac continue to build the same crap and that's not going to change any time soon. Whoever thinks that somehow the average engineers working for brands like Chevrolet, Cadillac and Nissan succeeded in creating anything that competes with the cars engineered by the most outstanding engineers in the world who work for Mercedes, BMW, Porsche or Ferrari, is out of touch with reality. Anything brands like Mercedes, BMW and Porsche build is AMAZING. How do you imagine that GT-R, CTS-V and Corvette are somehow great cars when all the other Nissan, Chevrolet or Cadillac cars are absolute garbage? Their engineers just got smart for one day, or two?
You drive any Porsche and it drives like a damn Porsche. You drive any BMW and it drives like a BMW.
You drive any Chevrolet including the Corvette and it drives like any other POS Chevrolet. You drive any Nissan including the GT-R and it drives like a POS Nissan. Sorry to rock your boy-racer world but faster is not synonym with better
Yes, Chevrolet or Nissan can build a car that goes as fast or faster than a similarly priced Porsche but they will never build a car that gives you everything a Porsche gives you. Same goes for the CTS-V. Yes, is faster than the M3 but is still engineered like a crappy Cadillac and it will lose 50% of value in the first year. Get REAL folks!

Star, you should go to a German car site. This is a site for Enthusiasts. German car this, German car that. You probably don't even own one. I own 2 and 2 Japanese cars. Trust me, Japanese cars are just as good. Its all a matter of preference clown.

I like the sedan more than the wagon but I hope they do sell the wagon here as well. Nothing beats the LS V8 engines from GM. And I don't give a damn about what everyone says about its use of a pushrod engine. Its damn light and makes lots of raw power.
