Cadillac Converj production delayed due to the financial crisis

The latest Cadillac Converj Concept car is so designed that the production version would appear just like it said GM vice-chairman Bob Lutz.

The exterior of the concept is not the only part that is production-identical but even the powerplant under the hood will be too.

The latest Voltec plug-in hybrid powertrain is the exact same unit from the forthcoming Volt which will be launched in the later part of next year. Moreover, GM will construct a factory in Michigan soon along with LG Chem to develop more advanced lithium-ion batteries needed to power the hybrid system.

Its not like we were expecting this to go into production any time soon...

It is being delayed from 2020 to 2024...
