Rumors of a mid-engined supercar based on the Corvette have been abound for decades, basically ever since the Corvette has come to existence. However, it never exactly came to fruition for whatever reasons.

But now, the rumor might actually lead to something since interest on both GM’s front and the consumer end have been picking up momentum, especially given GM’s new-found success with a lot of their new generation of cars.

A new report from MotorTrend surfaced after the magazine sat down with Cadillac’s president, Johan de Nysschen. And in this sitting, de Nysschen apparently suggested General Motors might follow through with making a Corvette-based mid-engined supercar, with a possible Cadillac version as well.
