Chevrolet VoltGM is currently building the biggest automotive facility in Michigan, where the battery packs of the latest Chevrolet Volt will be manufactured, with an area of 31,000 sq. ft. The car company is going to utilize this facility to design and new energy storage technologies including the testing and development of lithium-ion technologies. This is part of GM’s attempt to boost capacity and resources in the production of eco-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles to change its previous “gas-guzzling” image.
