chevrolet should have always kept Corvette at a price level where it would be attainable for general population if at all posible instead of making it into a semi supercar category with crazy horsepowers and price tags. I mean corvette already had tremendous royal fans flocking around and history and prestige gallore in the world!

Chevrolet did this without a 700 horsepower or 70grand price tags in the 70's to 80's! Unfortunately, GM wasn't as royal to the Corvette as people were. If the Corvette was priced between 35-45k and it offered a light weight small block V-8 or even unthinkable V-6 with an hybrid it would be a change for better instead of keep bumping up horsepowers because Mercedes luxury car for grandma could shred Corvette into pieces and squash it like a little bug.

What? The Corvette starts in the mid $40s and includes a lightweight aluminum V8 right now. What is your malfunction?

You are a complete moron. Chevy did a 500 horsepower L88 Corvette in 1964. Big power is nothing new. And Corvettes from the 70's and 80's are the worst of the breed! The 70's cars suffered from the oil embargo, and the 80's (C4) car went on unchanged for 12 years.

yes this is the 2007 toyota FT-HS concept car, possibly next generation Supra with 400 hp, synergy hybrid drive and it'll be considered as an affordable semi exotica! This is the future of the sports car, gents.

I disagree, a Corvette needs to be limited. I honestly would not want one if 5 other people on my block owned one....

too big for corvette, looks really long. Just a corvette with added fiberglass for some movie, not an actual production of any kind car is my guess.

Homer007, WTF are you talking about. That type of thinking is what has kept the Corvette from running with the big Dogs prior to the C6...I believe it was Bill Mitchell (responsilbe for the 90's Caddy STS) at GM who was disgusted that they took the C5 for Clinic tests. You don't let "clinic's" decide a enthusiast's car. Period, do you think Ferrari took the F430 to a clinic, hell no!!

The C6 is where the Corvette has just started to show it's balls. And you want them to be hidden. Well, I got news for you , if you wanna play, you gotta pay. Just look at the Mustang now. Why would any idiot buy a Mustang GT now, when one could get a used G35 coupe or a 350z, and smoke the mustang. The Mustang, may be cheap, but it is a heavy nose heavy, weak chassis having horse...It's needs to either be revised or shot and turned into glue.
Americans need to stop whining about paying for their cars and wanting an enthusiasts car that can run with Ferrari's to cost as much as a Honda Accord. it ain't happening like that. Just like the Corvette did, grow a pair, and show 'em to the world

I'm sadden that GM decided to discontinue working on their UV8 line, that would have had potential

Well, Clinic or whatever the Corvette had a huge loyal followers and fans. Presently, Vette isn't even in most of people's minds anymore like it once was..and, I'm pointing out most likely reasoning behind this which is becoming unattainable and engaging in a horsepower war of the 90's which Mercedes started. I'm just tellin ya..If Vette done what Nissan's 300ZX-370Z has been doing then it would be doing much better. 300ZX didn't go all-out crazy with price of horsepower. They wanted loyal fans to able not only to afford but have some normacy in daily driving, unlike Vette with crazy 1000 hp. and stuff. That's all im sayin..

Homer,
You do realize that the Corvette lived on and the ZX cars died right. Just like every other competitor that has tried to take on the Corvette directly. The Corvette also routinely outsells most other 2 door sport coupes (Miata exception). So how would you say the Corvette isn't doing well. Also it has 430 hp not 1000. Sure people aren't going to drive one every day but nobody ever did. As many or more people know about the Corvette today as they ever did. It is a halo car it ISN'T supposed to sell in droves.

The Vette is GM's halo car, it's has been around almost as long as Porsche and Ferrari have been around. So, in terms of evolution, the Vette should be hanging with the best from those companies.

The Camaro is the middle player, and competes against the 350Z's (the middle players from other companies). That's logic. And our not using logic. The days of a cheap interior, cheap corvette are going to be gone, and I say good riddance
