Since activating my Instagram account, I've found it interesting to check out the popular page and see what the latest trends are. You'll find SO much that may have not thought people were plugged into. Looking right now there seems to be an infatuation with two blonde twin teenage girls, sunsets, modified cars and some teen heartthrob guy.

Naturally, I find myself checking the modified cars.

In one particular post I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of love and a sprinkling of hate. A lot of people were fawning over a Nissan 240SX that had some serious work done to it. While detractors were few and far between, they were present only to get called "haters," as the youngsters say today.

Then the age-old debate of what defines a car enthusiast came into play. Is it someone that simply modifies their vehicle with stickers, oversized wheels and an air suspension an enthusiast? Or is it the guy who goes out, buys an M3 and and strips it out for track days? Is it both? Is an emphasis on performance critical OR does it have to deal with just the way a car looks?

There are many ways to slice and dice this sort of question, but I am wondering:

WHAT is it that makes a REAL Car ENTHUSIAST?
