Man, the German publications get to have all the fun, don't they? Not only are they well ahead of us in terms of testing product, they also get these cool invites to drive or ride along in the latest development cars. I guess it's a bit more convenient as they're in the manufacturer's back yard.

Mercedes-Benz recently had Auto Bild check in and go for a ride along in its all-new GLE-Class Coupe. This is slated to take on the BMW X6 and it's pretty easy to tell as it looks like an X6 clone with a three-pointed star attached.

As Auto Bild didn't get behind the wheel, impressions are a bit slim; however, this is what I can distill from the poorly translated article — thanks a lot, Google.

- It will be offered with six and eight-cylinder motors
- Will feature an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission
- It can comfortably seat four and luggage space is not problematic, even with the sloping roof
- Four driving modes will be available — Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport +
- Its seats are sporty without being too hard or constraining
- Even in Sport mode the suspension is tuned with comfort in mind — according to Auto Bild, the X6's is superior, granted, it is a prototype that may get refined

For now that's all we can derive from what Auto Bild wrote up. But, if you want some of the BEST images of the all-new GLE Coupe, then click "Read Article" below for the latest pics. They're easily the most revealing yet and we're pretty excited to see ALL the clothes come off.
