Recently it seems that automakers are beginning to open up their vaults. Now, more than ever, I am seeing particularly interesting stories where manufacturers are allowing the ultra rare butterflies get driven, even if they were never intended to.

Case in point: Only years ago Jaguar introduced the C-X75. It was a sexy concept that, according to Jaguar, was ready to go and take down the competition, full stop. Keep in mind that this is the company that produced the XJ220 and too cool for school XJR-15 that no one could figure out how to drive ;)

I'll put it this way. When Jaguar wants to accomplish something, it can. It's just a matter of them executing.

Since the C-X75 was axed we know it will NEVER make it to the hands of buyers. However, the British marque opened up its coffers and let Autocar drive the vehicle.

On that note, I am going to sit back and watch the fireworks.

We drive the Jaguar C-X75 hypercar. Billed as a rival to the LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder, commercial realities mean it will never be sold, but that hasn't stopped us getting behind the wheel.
