The all-new Volvo XC60 has me excited. I know that sounds weird considering it's a Volvo and all, but the company is swinging for the fences.

The XC90, for example, was a killer product. So much so that I named it a Top 007 vehicle for 2016. That's a serious accomplishment considering all the stuff I am lucky enough to experience.

That said, the company has rolled out its all-new design language across the likes of the S90 and V90 now. So, now what? That's where the XC60 comes into the picture. Considering the XC90 and XC60 are the BIG volume sellers at Volvo, this is a major happening as the company continues to elevate its profile in the automotive kingdom.

After seeing the XC60 in person at the New York Auto Show, I'd be a bit concerned if I were the other guys. While Volvo is not going to move a significant volume being a niche player in the luxury space, it will definitely take a bite out of the likes of Audi, BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz's market share as the XC90 has done in its respective segment.

See what Consumer Reports initially has to say about the XC60 in this brief video review.
