Every time I write something about the BMW X6, I just cannot help but reference that it's largely called "pointless" by many in the automotive press. Why? Well, that's because I think they're wrong.

And plenty of people have been buying them. Not to mention the variety of sport-utility vehicle copy cats.

So, what should be done with a "pointless" vehicle? Obviously, a pointless review. Justin Bell decided to take the OEM-jacked up version on the track and put it around the corners to see what he could get out of it. And, you just may be surprised what he experienced.

Having driven the last-gen X5M and X6M on the track, I will say they are incredibly capable and the previous gen X6M was rumored to do the same lap time around a track as an E46 M3. If that doesn't turn your head, I don't know what will.

Considering the all-new X6M is a bit better in every regard, this should be a vehicle people lust after. Perhaps Bell can do a better job convincing you if I haven't been persuasive enough.

Onto the clip!

Since its inception in the 1970s, BMW’s M badge has come to symbolize big time, motorsport worthy performance. But can an SUV truly be worthy of such an honor? Justin takes the 2016 BMW X6 M to the track to find out.
