The Porsche 911 is an iconic vehicle. There's no more disputing that. It's been around for 50+ years and it's still every bit as good as the original. Over the years though there's been an incredible burst of all-new variants. 

 

From the throwback Targa to the stripped out GT3 to the even more hardcore GT3 RS and then the hell-raising GT2 RS it seems like the company can keep adding letters and numbers with zero problems. That's because the vehicle continues to get better. 

 

But, there's just one thing. This may be all for nothing. 

 

That's because the best 911 may just have been built 30 years ago. Yes, I am speaking about the 959. After seeing this excellent, fact-ridden EVO video, it really puts things in perspective. 

 

Not only was the 959 producing nearly 450 horsepower, it had all-wheel drive and an adjustable suspension.
