Did Honda Just "Samsung" BMW With The New Accord?

If you know about Engineering , You wont miss this: Red: Honda, Gray: BMW if you pay attention to the lower part of the frame, it is stronger in the Bimmer and very thin on the Honda. I would like to see a side impact test to see how both perform...

omg, older cars than the BMW had this curve. Not anyone that does it is copying BMW! And no they don't look alike.

pretty sure i saw some post like this from 009 some time from the distant past...
oh right, the post that 009 desperately try to point out the (at the time) new BMW 7 didn't copy Lexus LS' bumper fused exhaust.

The 2000 Celica had those door lines, does that mean BMW Hyundai's Toyota?

Like how Honda gets criticism while the Korean happily go on stealing everything not nailed to the floor because "them Yanks love cheap". Oh well.

That LS exhaust was on the Acura TL before that.

I'll add that aside from the upper crease which is debatable, the rest of the car looks alot like the 2011 Accord.

There are some similarities, but I instantly knew the left pics was the BMW and the right the Honda. If it's that obvious from a partial picture, I'd have to say not a knock-off. But hey, imitation in the sincerest form of flattery. Used to be that BMW and Mercedes looked distinctly "German." Today, they look a lot more like the Asian cars.

Before we ask if Honda Samsung'd BMW one might ponder if Samsung actually Samsung'd Apple. Some of those patent claims were just plain ridiculous.

And while I know that's a topic for another website , I'm just going with what you started.

What about the Mercedes C-class coupe that look almost identical to the Honda Accord Coupe which came out way before the C-class coupe? LOL......

They are emulating the BMW's sales figures. This doesn't mean the 3 Series is necessarily the best ... Just the best selling.

Eh...I've owned 3 Accords and 4 BMW's over the years. An Accord is not a BMW, but they ARE closing the gap. The styling for the 2013 Accord was probably established a year before the '5' hit the streets.
And I've been in a new '5'. Far short of my expectations. I'd take a '5' over an Accord. But, if it were my money, the Accord would satisfy 90% of my driving requirements.
Crash worthiness hasn't been announced, but I doubt the Accord will be little, if anything, short of the BMW's.

Hey ihaveareds2000. What flavor Kool Aid you been drinking? You know, Hon-duhhh lovers are SO blind that even basic logic escapes them. You can keep your Honda. Enjoy them. If you want to continue to be blinded, that is your business. You are saying that the Accord fares better than the Bimmer in a crash test? You are indeed VERY ignorant. How dare you compare a Honda to a Bimmer, much less an Acura. Give me a break. Why do you think that Nissan is now the number two auto company in Japan behind Toyota. Yes, Honda is number THREE where they belong. Wake up man!!!

Yeah, I saw a C-coupe and except for the front, I noticed it looked a lot like the Accord coupe.
Also, the new ML has signal/daytime lights that look eerily 99% like the ones found on the Chrysler 200, same placement and design, just orange instead of white.

Saw a Ford Focus yesterday and its doors/side looked a lot like both of the above, so perhaps Ford got Samsung'd by both BMW and Honda.

Hey AutoSpies: Here is a flash for you. The Japanese have been masters of replication, duplication, plageurism, industrial espionage since the 1930's. Remember the cameras after WWII that were spitting images of the German Leicas, Agfas and Exactas? Why the surprise about them ripping off the Germans again here in the 21st century.

And why aren't you writing about the blatant design rip off that Hyundai and Kia are pulling off of Mercedes and BMW? It really is a crime and goes far to show how little creativity, imagination and design skill the Asians possess. (no offense meant, just fact).

No one ever mentioned that Sonata essentially made a 4-door Celica, from the exaggerated swept back headlights, to the extensive crease flowing to the rear or the car, to the tight window line from front to rear.

No one mentioned either the way the previous 5-Series took the rear lighting design (not taillamp design) of the G35coupe. Then the current 5 Series essentially took the actual taillamp design of the G37 sedan.

And no one has ever mentioned that the A7 is a 4-door Accord coupe. Look at Car and Driver's 10-best issue cover from last year and from a slight distance, you couldn't tell the Accord couple from the A7 in profile.

btw, there are a few cars that have copied Toyota/Honda its due as payback.

I had an Accord and put on 170k miles before I sold it. Hated it!

Now in a BMW and you could not pay me to drive a Honda.
