Chrysler will be launching its first hybrids later this year with the 2009 Chrysler Aspen and the Dodge Durango HEMI SUVs. Odd time to go hybrid with large-SUVs but we doubt Chrysler saw this rise in gas-prices coming.
Nonetheless the company is already exploring the possibility of expanding its hybrid offerings into other vehicles. According to Mike Accavitti, Dodge Brand director, Chrysler’s engineers are looking on what car will go hybrid next and are focusing resources on the lineup the company has now.
