Since the launch of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C7) it's been amazing. That's because this generation Corvette is a super competitive, incredible performer.

Chevrolet took the bar and raised it. It's very impressive.

That said, the standard 'Vette wasn't enough for the power freaks. Then along came the 600 plus horsepower Z06 model. Making more power than the last-gen ZR1 Corvette, it is a staggering vehicle. We applaud General Motors for breaking out the big guns and challenging the latest and greatest supercars with its modestly priced product — remember, this is all relative.

While the current-gen Z06 is a complete beast, we've been thinking that there could room for something MORE. Looks like we weren't too far off base.

That's because GM recently filed a trademark application to use "ZR1," which is a good sign of things to come. Although it's not a guarantee it does show us that the ship is pointed in the right direction.

Having said that, what do YOU think the ZR1 Corvette should have to make it stand head and shoulders above the rest of the sports car/supercar pack?
