The speculations by the Italian press that the Japanese company Suzuki Motor Co. could join the alliance between Fiat Group Automobiles and the European and Latin American operations of GM was denied by Fiat Group.

It is a fact that Suzuki is, in some way, already connected with Fiat and Opel, since it is responsible for building the Opel/Vauxhall Agila and the Fiat Sedici cars at its Hungarian facilities in Esztergom. Magna is targeting a 20 percent stake in Opel, and both companies have already presented their proposal for the future of Opel to the government of Germany.
