I think already planning a 3 GT when the 5 GT hasn't even come out yet and proved itself is a stupid idea. They should wait to see how well the 5 GT sells before they jump ahead!

I don't understand why they have a GT badge on it. Usually a GT has two doors, and is a sporty, touring vehicle. GT in this case must be GiantTurd, not GranTurismo.

The more I see this of this car the UGLIER it gets. I really wish BMW would put the wraps back on this GT that I believe is their version of the Pontiac Aztec which like this UGLY car is very functional but UBER UGLY too. I agree with adamsa723 this new GT name must stand for GiantTurd.

Why can't people revolt and stop buying BMW's?

I know the majority of yuppies that buy them lease them so they don't have to worry about the unreliable car falling apart! Got to love progress!

This will be a big failure just like the 5-series GT. BMW is now producing new models for the sake of producing new models.

It's fine with me because BMW's costs are going to rise through the roof, these useless new models won't add anything to their already horrid sales this year, and their profitability will continue to sink further into the red.

After a little more research, I believe that the genesis for the BMW GT models is the assumption that there is a reasonable size market of customers who do not want a coupe or sedan. They like a higher seating position and they want more cargo space. In the past, this market has typically bought SUV's but they really didn't need or use the full capability of an SUV. Thus, BMW would like to offer them a vehicle based on the same platform as the coupe/sedan that isn't a an SUV and that isn't styled like a traditional station wagon. Hence, the GT hatchback was born.

The real question is will the GT's help BMW to expand their market share or will they simply steal sales from BMW's sedans and SUV's?

Breaking News: BMW's new models have started to cannibalize sales!

The consumer is going to be so sadly confused. You can buy an X5, X6, 5-series GT, and probably a 3-series GT in the future.

Not to mention the 5-series GT looks god awful and serves absolutely NO purpose at all.

Herro, I don't know the answers to your questions. I do know that BMW's sales are falling off a cliff almost as fast as its profitability is!!

The new BMW "GT" models are an absolute disgrace to the brand. So you can already get the X3 (it sucks compared to the Q5), X5, X6, the ugly and useless 5-series GT is coming to a showroom near you soon, and pretty soon the 3-Series GT.

LOL...BMW missed the "Here is How You Don't Cannibalize Your Sales".

BMW is turning into Mercedes with their gazillion different model lines. We all know Mercedes sales have stagnated at roughly 1 million for some time now and they are going to get passed by Audi. Looks like BMW will suffer the same fate as they too seem to now enjoy producing pointless models.
