The upcoming Toyota RAV4 EV will be the most-expensive non-luxury electric vehicle on U.

S. roads when it goes on sale in late summer with a pre-credit price of $49,800.

But the auto maker says the price of the cross/utility vehicle, at $20,000 more than a fully loaded V-6 all-wheel-drive '12 RAV4, isn't too rich for its intended buyer.

Toyota RAV4 is not the same audience. This is a more frugal audience - the RAV4 is a starter car for many couples and families looking for the most bang for the buck. $50K?

As long as that meatball sub is not from a piss-poor, mass market chain like Subway, a Veal and Pork Meatball Sub is the definitely the intelligent choice as long as there is not a Supreme tasting Chicken Parmesan on the menu.

If you need to have an electric Suv that badly, I would suggest that you take $30k of the $50k and buy a Leaf. With the extra $20k left over, invest in a property that will give you a return greater than the market average.

Then sell the leaf after Tesla calls and tells you that the Electric Model S Suv you ordered is ready.
