General Motors Co. said today it may increase previously announced production plans for the extended range electric Chevrolet Volts.

Doug Parks, GM's global vehicle line executive for electric vehicles, said today GM will build "10,000 or 15,000" Volt models in 2011.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Business of Plugging In conference, Parks said GM could build up to 60,000 Volt models in 2012. In July, GM upped production plans for 2012 from 30,000 to 45,000.
