Hyundai recently invited 20 aftermarket companies to its North American headquarters in Fountain Valley, California to measure the capabilities of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Calling it the official SEMA measuring session for the company’s latest rear-wheel-drive coupe, Hyundai said it really wanted to get aftermarket companies a head start on the Genesis Coupe.
Unveiled at the 2008 New York Auto Show, the base Hyundai Genesis coupe is powered by a 4-cylinder turbo that produces 223 horsepower along with a range-topping 3.8 liter V6 version producing 310 horsepower.
“If you look under the hood, there’s more room to do stuff,” said John Espino of Gale Banks Engineering. Espino said that his company is already working on a supercharger for the V6 Genesis Coupe along with a upgrades for the 4-cylinder turbocharger and intercooler on the four-cylinder model.
