Recently Agent 001, the head cheese, was up in NoCal sampling some of the all-new notables from Volkswagen's lineup. There were some particularly interesting vehicles that he drove but easily one stole the show.

Of course, there's a problem: it's not for sale in the States although VW officials hinted that it could be down the road.

Considering it's been on the market in Europe since 2009, we're thinking this generation product won't make it here. And that's a shame because it's one helluva good looking vehicle.

As it's the "R" variant, it is pushing out 265 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque via a four-cylinder turbocharged motor. Mated to a DSG transmission, it's packaging sounds awfully familiar to the currently out Golf R.

So, what say you? If Volkswagen were to put the Scirocco ON SALE, would you take one for a spin? Buy one?
