For those of you not hiding under a rock, this weekend brings the Goodwood Festival of Speed. If there was one time to be a car lover and in the U.K., this is it. While the U.K. tends to be overcast with storm clouds and speckled with rain here and there, this is a gearhead's paradise.

And if you love British marques, your head just may explode.

To really drive this home, Jaguar has done up a one-off F-Type. And, my, my have they done it this time. Inspired by the iconic D-Type racer, this built-for-one F-Type is the real deal. Dubbed "Project 7" they're hesitating to call it an F-Type. That's because it has had more work done to it than it may appear at first glance.

First things first that cloth roof is gone. Next the windshield was cut down. From there Jaguar gave it race-inspired livery, a 14-degree "angle of attack," plenty of carbon fiber and fitted it with a quilted-leather driver's seat a la the old days.

Project 7 is equipped with a supercharged V8 pushing out 542 horsepower and 501 lb.-ft. of torque.
