Is The 2013 Ford Escape Is Too High Tech For The Average User?

avg car costs $30k these days, just the avg, so what's wrong with a loaded car being $6k more? nothing

Most people have trouble using their PCs with Microsoft software. Why would we think that putting Microsoft software in the dashboard would have any different result?

Yes, easy, simple and well-integrated is hard work. Microsoft does not appear to be able to do this hard work well.

I thought this would be the crossover for me, but it is easily going to cost $32,000+ to just make it something I would want... I can't see myself in a Honda CRV, but I bet a lot of other potential buyers for the Escape will. What's going on with Ford and their pricing? A loaded Explorer costs $50,000+ Where will Lincolns be priced once they turn that dead brand around? ...better yet, what will Lincoln offer for the price? Is sure isn't going to be better styling-- that "design by committee" homely face of the MKZ -- ugh

Actually, I may wait for the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport - it looks great and if they upped the interior quality it should be a real contender. I've never bought a Korean make, but they are really progressing.

MY 27 year old gf just hated the Escape, Liked the Mazda Cx-5 then bought a loaded 35,000 Mini Cooper Countryman becasue it was "cuter"
and she got all the options she wanted and was more comfertable and easier to park, had a loaner car and free maintenance. Plus she didn't even care she had to spend an extra 100 bucks a month on her lease becsue she got an esier car she atually wanted and the others were not as easy to get fixed. Since it is a lease she doesn't care about rliability.

Personally I can't wait to drive one of these, but then again I like options and tech. This should give the segment some tough competition and reason to continue innovating. If it's fun to drive and as nice as it looks in and out to drive, it should be a winner.
