Recently you may have noted that a rumor had been working its way around the Internet that Ferrari's LaFerrari had been recalled due to what was being described as a "fire risk."

As usual with brief news bits like this, we posted a snipppet from another publication and pointed the link to them as it had written up the full story.

You can read Agent 009's post that linked to the original Ferrari LaFerrari rumor here.

But a Ferrari spokesperson reached out to me with further clarification on the matter and to set the record straight. Here is Ferrari's explanation on the matter, below:

With reference to erroneous information published by some web sites, Ferrari states that no recall has been issued regarding the LaFerrari. Due to a possible incorrect adhesion of a layer of paint on the fuel tank, some clients have been invited to take their cars to an authorized service center to substitute the fuel tank with a new one with new paint. The time to change the fuel tank is relatively short and the intervention concerns only a limited number of LaFerraris.

So, to keep the record straight, the LaFerrari has NOT been recalled.

As the truth is important to the Agents, and the key differentiator between AutoSpies and other outlets, we wanted to be sure to let you know!
