If you have a solid background in engineering, particularly in powertrain hybrid technology, you may want to hand in your resume at McLaren. Why? That's because the British marque, known for its outrageous supercars, is looking for an engineer.

According to Autocar, the manufacturer placed an advertisement looking for an engineer.

When you know the rivals you are suiting up against are already hard at work -- Ferrari and Lamborghini have admitted to working on hybrid vehicles -- you know you've got some catching up to do. Whether or not the new technology will make it into roadcars is kind of obvious.

With the push for green initiatives, globally, it is essentially expected that most, if not all cars will have a hybrid at some point down the line. It is only a matter of "when?"

McLaren Automotive has dropped a further hint that hybrid technology will feature on its future supercars.

The firm is advertising for an electrical engineer to work on the “concept, design and development of the electrical package and wiring system for a hybrid electric vehicle."

A McLaren spokesman wouldn’t confirm whether or not the advert meant it was planning on adding hybrid technology to its road cars....

[Later on a McLaren spokeperson said,] “All the advert means is that we are looking for a senior engineer in powertrain hybrid technology. Read into it what you will."
